# Turso Cloud Documentation

> Your fully managed SQLite-compatible database platform built on libSQL

  Turso Cloud currently runs on **libSQL** (SQLite-compatible). The
  next-generation Turso Database engine is in alpha development and will be
  integrated into Turso Cloud in the future.

Turso Cloud is your fully managed SQLite-compatible database platform, designed to scale from prototype to production. Built on [libSQL](/libsql), Turso Cloud provides the performance and reliability of SQLite with the convenience and scalability of a modern cloud database service.
